So the nominations came out this morning for the 82nd Academy Awards (to be televised on March 7th @ 8 PM). There's a new format of TEN best picture nominations. Personally, I couldn't even name 10 movies I liked this year, let alone 10 Academy Award worthy movies. But, here are the nominations:
Best PictureAvatar ----------------
Basically "Pocahontas" w/ cool special effects. Not worth all the hype. But this will be the Best Picture Oscar recipient. Sigh. The Blind Side --------
Heart-warming movie, though kind of lagged at moments. Pure fluff.District 9 -------------
Seriously? It was good, but it was Blockbuster-esque... Not epic enough. An Education
The Hurt Locker
